COMMISSIONS PROCESS
STEP ONE: Does the commissions banner at the top of the site say that commissions are open? If yes, continue. If no, please wait to contact me. The banner will be updated when commissions are open and I will announce the same on my Instagram.
STEP TWO: Identify a reference photo that you would like to have drawn. Additional photos may be included to provide insight to your pet’s unique characteristics. The best photos are of good quality and have dynamic lighting (i.e., light and shadow). They also show your pet’s fur texture.
STEP THREE: Choose the artwork size and medium. The most popular options are listed below. Custom options are available as well. Please inquire if you are interested in a piece with custom dimensions to discuss availability and pricing.
STEP FOUR: Contact me utilizing the contact form on this page. Please include the size and medium of your request in the message, as well as the type of animal.
STEP FIVE: I will reply to you via email and request the reference photos. Upon receipt and verification that the reference photos are suitable, I will confirm timeline, pricing, and “progress” or “surprise.”
Progress: I will send you progress photos at least three times during the creation process (50%, 90%, 100%). Upon receipt of the 90% and 100% photos, you will have 48 hours to advise if there are any changes that you would like me to make. I will do my best to accommodate those requests where possible.
Surprise: You waive receipt of all progress photos and agree to accept the final drawing as is with no changes. This option is only advised if you are purchasing the artwork as a surprise for yourself.
STEP SIX: If you are in agreement on timeline, price, and method of production, I will request a nonrefundable 50% deposit (sent via PayPal) to guarantee your commission slot.
STEP SEVEN: I will complete the commission in our agreed-upon timeline. Once complete, the drawing will be sealed with fine art fixative to prevent yellowing and smudging. Payment (remaining 50% plus cost of shipment) will be due upon the following:
Progress: Upon receipt and approval of 100% completion progress photo. The drawing will not be sealed with fixative until approval is received.
Surprise: Upon confirmation of completion.
STEP EIGHT: Upon receipt of payment, I will package and mail the artwork within three business days unless otherwise advised and agreed upon.

SHIPPING DETAILS (UNITED STATES):
All artwork will be mailed via USPS Priority Mail (1-3 day delivery). I will provide you with the tracking number.
Cost of shipment will range from $10-15 depending on your location.

All artwork will be mailed via the lowest-priced shipping option with tracking information available (unless otherwise requested).
I will provide you with a freight quote at the beginning of the process.
PRICING DETAILS: My base pricing is based on standard time requirements, area (square inches) of the piece, and cost of materials. I maintain a tracking worksheet for all projects to ensure that my pricing is consistent and fair to both you and me. I will not increase my standard prices when commissions are open. Any price increases will be determined, communicated, and implemented while commissions are closed.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF COMMISSIONING
DISPLAY: I reserve the right to display work in progress and final images of the artwork as part of my public portfolio on this website and my social media, unless otherwise agreed. If you select the “surprise” option, I will not post any in progress or final images until you have received the artwork.
MODIFICATIONS: If commissioned with progress photos, you have the right to request reasonable changes to the artwork prior to final sealing. I reserve the right to determine what qualifies as a reasonable change. Once the artwork is sealed, no further modifications are permitted.
SHIPPING: All pieces 14 x 17 and under will be shipped in large envelopes with the artwork packaged between rigid cardboard sheets and within plastic to prevent damage to the piece. All pieces larger than those dimensions will be shipped in cardboard poster tubing.
All pieces 14 x 17 and under will be packaged in products made from recycled materials which are also fully recyclable. The envelopes and cardboard sheeting are recyclable with paper products, and the plastic packaging can be recycled with shopping bags and other similar plastic.
REFUNDS: The 50% deposit is considered nonrefundable unless I have to cancel your commission. If I am forced to cancel, I will refund your deposit.
